i. To regulate and ensure all firefighting equipment in ports are well maintained and well-functioning especially during emergency cases.
ii. To regulate Port Fire and Rescue Services in Johor Port Berhad and Port Of Tanjung Pelepas.
iii. To regulate and promote Safety Health and Environment (SHE) culture in Johor Port Authority, Johor Port Berhad and Port Of Tanjung Pelepas.
iv. To regulate and monitoring permits to Work (PTW) activities in Johor Port Berhad and Port of Tanjung Pelepas.
v. Inspection and give permission to the application of Permit To Work (PTW) for ship which anchor or lay up in Pasir Gudang Port Limit and Tanjung Pelepas Port Limit.
2.Question: What is the obligatory procedure to conduct ship maintenance works in the port?
Answer:
i. Any ship which alongside at any wharfs in Johor Port Berhad or Port Of Tanjung Pelepas shall apply PTW(To Permit Work) direct from respective Port Safety Department before any commence of maintenance works.
ii. Any ship which anchored and laid up in Pasir Gudang Port Limit or Tanjung Pelepas Port Limit shall apply Permit To Work (PTW) from Johor Port Authority before any commence of maintenance works. Permit form can be obtained from the headquarters or download here.
iii. Shipping agents shall ensure the contractor engage in maintenance work has valid registered license from Johor Port Authority. List of registered contractor can refer here.
